Run Hu is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Energy, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and a recipient of the National Excellent Youth Fund. He has been a visiting scholar at Purdue University in the United States and a JSPS special researcher at the University of Tokyo in Japan. His main research interests include heat and mass transfer, thermal superstructure materials and functional devices, and thermal management of optoelectronic devices. He has published 80 SCI journal papers including Nature Communications, Science Advances, Physical Review X, Advanced Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, Physical Reivew X, Nano Energy, ACS Nano, including 4 ESI highly cited papers, and his papers have been reported by Advanced Science News, Phys.Org, MRS Bulletin, Materials View China and other authoritative science and technology news media. He has presided over 5 National Natural Science Foundation of China, 3 sub-projects of the National Key R&D Programme, as well as provincial projects, and projects entrusted by enterprises. He was awarded the Second Prize of Natural Science of Hubei Province (ranked 1), Hubei Chutian Scholar, Excellent Doctoral Dissertation, Academic Newcomer Award of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Huazhong Scholar, and the Second Prize of Wang Tzu-hsuan-Gao Zeng-yuan Youth Excellent Dissertation.
